Casa Vieja Lodge is an opportunity to experience luxury accommodation and service while fishing in the “Sailfish Capital of the World”, the Pacific coast of Guatemala. Built over twenty years ago as the private retreat to one of Guatemala’s most prominent sporting families, Casa Vieja has been family owned and operated by Kristen and Capt. David Salazar since 2013.

Continual upgrading makes the Lodge the ultimate retreat after a day on the water. There is no surprise that Casa Vieja was designed by lifelong sportsmen who believe that world class fishing deserves world class accommodations – regardless of how far you are from home.

All guests will enjoy a spacious deluxe room with local artwork, down pillows and comforters, and all modern conveniences. Each morning starts at Café Pez Vela with local Guatemalan coffee, and in the evenings guests enjoy four-course gourmet dinners and hand crafted cocktails. The Lodge Managers and staff have been trained to be masters of guests relations and will pamper your every need.

However, it is the fishing that brings anglers from around the world to Casa Vieja. Sailfish are the biggest attraction, and Casa Vieja boats average an incredible 15 releases per day. Guatemala is also an excellent blue marlin destination, with some of the best action occurring in the “off season” summer months. Black Marlin, striped marlin, yellowfin tuna and dorado are also regular catches.

The Casa Vieja fleet includes eight boats to choose from, from a 35’Contender for smaller groups, to 37’ gamefishers, to the flagship, “Poco Loco”, a 44’ Kincheloe Nickerson which is as luxurious as it is well outfitted for chasing billfish.
