Surf Fishing With A Drone To Cast Your Bait Waaaay Out There
ALL First-World Problems can be solved with Drones
Need emergency medicines shipped to a rural African village during the rainy season? Get a drone. Need a terrorist bumped off the most wanted list? Get a drone. Need to cast a 14oz rig a hundred yards offshore? You guessed it…get a drone.
The illustrious gentleman in this video has apparently decided that the traditional methods of getting his bait to the fish are much too barbaric. Rather than risk salty dampness of his nether-regions by wading, or strained shoulder muscles by He-Man casting his rig, he has instead decided to take a lesson from Homeland Security and solve his problem with a drone. And his choice of drone, the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ Quadcopter, is one of the best selling ones out there.
Once you’re through shaking your head, you have to admit that it’s a brilliantly simplistic solution to a very real problem. Expensive, perhaps, but brilliant.
I can hear the MasterCard ad now:
“Professional grade quadcopter …$800.
GoPro camera with 1080p video capabilities $200
Opportunity cost of the 5 hours required to learn how to pilot said quadcopter…$100.
Out-casting all of your buddies with a flick of your thumb…priceless.”
Who is doing this experience for hire? Would be worth $250 for 4 hrs for 2 fisherman if an outfit supplied the drone, drone piolet, gear, bait and cleaning… A few stills and some vid from the drone
