“I started working on boats as a child with my father who owned a local OBX scuba diving shop and charter boat. I fell in love with being on the ocean at an early age and the obsession has only grown
stronger,” said Captain Ryan. “After working on boats in the diving and fishing industry I was able to acquire my USCG 100 Ton masters license.”

X-Spearmint Sportfishing offer great trips for all, from children who have never fished to experienced anglers. His inlet trips are a great way for the younger generation to get involved with fishing, as Capt. Ryan will teach them step by step how to fish in the shallower waters, casting for trout and drum.

His longer full day trips offer a lot of versatility, and typically involve cruising the near shore waters for king mackerel, cobia, red drum, and mahi. X-Spearmint also offers bottom fishing for tilefish and seabass.

“The X-Spearmint” is a custom-built Carolina center console boasting a full upper station for sighting fish. This is great for fishing for Cobia and schools of Drum and Mahi. It has all the navigational equipment
to get you on the fish fast, including a state of the art GPS plotter, bottom machine/fishfinder and radar.
