In the azure waters surrounding Madeira, Captain Gonçalo Barbosa and his team aboard the Boca Raton have established themselves as premier big game fishing specialists, focusing primarily on the majestic Atlantic Blue Marlin and tuna that migrate through these rich waters.

What sets Boca Raton apart for 2025 is their innovative approach to following the fish. Understanding that these prized species are highly migratory, constantly pursuing the optimal 22°C water temperatures and seasonal baitfish movements, Boca Raton has upgraded their operation to migrate alongside them. The charter now offers expeditions across three archipelagos—Canaries, Madeira, and Azores—giving anglers unprecedented access to peak fishing conditions year-round.

The vessel itself, a 31-foot Black Watch Flybridge Convertible, is purpose-built for serious offshore fishing while providing comfortable accommodations for guests. The boat’s design allows for maximum fishing efficiency in the sometimes challenging Atlantic waters.

While blue marlin and tuna (both bluefin and yellowfin) remain the crown jewels of a Boca Raton expedition during high season, Captain Barbosa also offers inshore and bottom fishing experiences during off-season periods.
