From this stunning tropical paradise, Makaira offers great experiences taking advantage of the amazing fishery found in the sparkling blue waters just offshore.

Makaira Sports Fishing has a fleet of three custom built fishing boats, Sea Afare, Dream Time II, and Slam Em.  These are modest skiffs but make no mistake – they are well equipped with Shimano and Penn tackle, and important gear like fighting belts, gaffs, and outriggers. You’re going to need it – the fish in Fiji get BIG.

Fiji is renowned for its rich biodiversity, and offers a variety of truly pristine fishing opportunities. Makaira offers many options with its trips, and you can choose to focus on big game trolling, reef fishing, or jigging/popping. Common species caught include marlin, yellowfin tuna, dogtooth tuna, mahi, wahoo, giant trevally and a wide variety of colorful reef fish.

Your trip will be booked by manager Colleen, and all of the English-speaking crew are highly experienced and experts in the local waters. If you would like, you can request a combination trip that includes snorkeling the rainbow reef, or an eco-tour visiting nearby islands and some of the phenomenal natural scenery and wildlife.
