Skins and Fins Charters is a true family-run business with two fishing guides – the father and son team of Captain Ted Benbow and Captain Donnie Benbow. They operate out of famed Islamorada in the heart of the Florida Keys, where they take customers on daily adventures on the miles of prime flats and backcountry waters of the keys.

Captain Ted is a Florida Keys native who has been fishing the area since he was 12. Not surprisingly, Captain Donnie started fishing the Keys practically before he could walk, and he got his first boat at the age of 15. They can cater to any angler, from the serious fly fisherman to the novice. Captain Ted specializes in family trips with kids and Donnie echoes that sentiment, “I live for the joy and excitement I see in my clients faces when that catch that one fish they will remember for a lifetime!”

Both captains pilot 2021 Egret flats boats that can get back into the skinny water while still providing a comfortable ride for customers. Their daily fishing trips range all over the keys from Key Largo to Marathon to the Everglades. On a daily basis they target bonefish, tarpon, redfish, trout and Captain Donnie’s favorite, the permit.
